Congratulations Roxana D’Italia, Rochester, MA
Hello, My Name is Roxana D’Italia.
I am a proud Mom of two amazing children, Sophia (12 years old) and Anthony (9 years old). I am originally from a South American country. I proudly grew up in a third-world country on a Farm in south Peru. I graduated from College in Lima-Peru with a Bachelor's degree in public affairs and communications. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a job that fulfilled my expectations for my chosen career. I am so grateful I came to America 17 years ago to teach Spanish to two beautiful girls in Newton, Massachusetts, while attending Umass Boston and Mass Bay College and learning the language.
I fell in love with the culture, the language, and my now husband, Rob. I also followed my passion and fell in love with teaching children my language while taking care of them. It never felt like work, and I fulfilled my expectations beyond anything I imagined. I always have fun while learning new things both from the children and by reading and taking child development courses. I am always striving for the best I can do for the children in my care. That's always my number 1 priority being the owner and director of a family daycare. When the pandemic hit in early 2020, I was ready to open my Spanish Immersion Family Childcare: "Learning Tree Family Daycare" in Rochester, Massachusetts. Unfortunately, once the pandemic hit, it made the application process to get license a little more complicated and delayed our initial target date to open.
We finally opened Learning Tree in August 2020, during the pandemic. I am beyond proud of all the accomplishments and hard work my husband Rob and I have done so far for our Family Daycare. We have the best group of parents and children at Learning Tree. I am so proud to say we are at full capacity, and we have an extensive waiting list of families ready to enroll their children once an opening occurs.
Learning Tree has fulfilled my dreams of a career in working with children beyond what I could imagine. Seeing the children learn Spanish, have fun playing, and grow is gratifying.
In closing, continuing my education is very important to me. I am currently applying for a scholarship from the state of Massachusetts to earn my Bachelor's degree in Early Education.
I am also beyond thankful for Shared Services. They helped me incredibly with my business. I took the tax classes, and it was amazing how much information and knowledge I gained from that workshop alone plus, the people leading the workshop gave us a lot of tools and advice after the workshop to work with, such as excel spreadsheets with our very own budget information to work with for when we were ready to file our taxes. In addition, I got phone calls and emails afterward from Lee, one of the moderators in charge of the workshop, to make sure I was all set with the information and the spreadsheet they sent my way. I also often use Share services PDF formats, a great resource from the website for my business.
In my free time, I love exercising. Even if I have to wake up at 5:00 AM to get ready to have a full and fun time with the children at my daycare.
At Learning Tree Family Daycare, we prioritize going outside daily and exploring the outdoors while learning.I am grateful for everything I have learned in this country and everything I have accomplished. I became a Citizen 6 years ago. Have two beautiful Children, an amazing husband, my parents, and children of Learning Tree, who I consider my family.
